Directions to Deildartunguhver and Langjökull

Deildartunguhver
At about 80 km from Gerðuberg, you will find deildartunguhver, the largest hot spring in Iceland. You’ll get there by following Route 54 until Bogarnes, and then take Route 1 north for 18 km. (Photo by: martin_vmorris)
Then take Route 50 and follow this also for 18 km until you see the car park for Deildartunguhver on the right. There is usually a stall where you can buy fresh tomatoes grown in the greenhouses nearby.
With more than 180 liters of hot water per second coming out of the ground here, Deildartunguhver is the highest-flow hot spring in Iceland. You can explore the site via a wooden walkway. The hot water is used for heating the city of Borgarnes.

Do you want to visit the largest and longest ice tunnel in Europe? You can do this in Langjökull. Into The Glacier will take you to this tunnel. More info and reservations can be found on their website. They also offer snowmobile tours on the Langjökull glacier.
